Using insurance for psychiatric care
Steadfast Psychiatry works with patients who may have commercial insurance benefits for outpatient mental health care. Coverage is not established by an insurer's name alone. Plan type, employer network, state rules, deductibles, copays, coinsurance, and referral or authorization requirements may affect eligibility and your final cost.
The practice's existing website identifies the following carriers or networks for potential plan matching. This is a directory of plans to verify individually, not a promise that every product offered by each carrier is accepted.
Commonly requested networks
- Aetna
- Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield New York (formerly Empire)
- Cigna
- Carelon Behavioral Health
- UnitedHealthcare / Optum

An insurance company based outside New York does not expand Steadfast Psychiatry's current New York-only care coverage. Provider network eligibility must be verified for the individual member and visit.
Medicare and Medicaid are not currently accepted. If you have either form of coverage, please do not assume that your visit can be billed through it.
Self-pay rates
For patients paying directly rather than using insurance.
For ongoing medication management and review.
Sliding-scale fees may be available only by prior agreement with Daniel and are not guaranteed. Ask about a possible complimentary 15-minute introductory consultation, which is separate from a complete paid psychiatric evaluation. Confirm all applicable terms before scheduling.
How to confirm your coverage
- Check your exact plan. Compare the name of the mental health network and plan type on your card, not only the parent insurer.
- Confirm the individual provider. Ask whether Daniel Georges, PMHNP-BC, is in network for your specific product, for New York telehealth psychiatric evaluation and medication management.
- Review your cost sharing. Ask about deductible, specialist copay or coinsurance, telehealth benefits, and whether any prior authorization or referral is required.
- Check before the appointment. Use the practice's scheduling flow or contact the practice if you are unsure. Quoted costs are estimates until eligibility and claims are processed.
For patients scheduling through Headway, provide insurance information directly in the secure scheduling process rather than submitting protected health information through this informational site.
Who can schedule telehealth appointments?
Care is currently available to eligible adults physically located in New York at the time of the appointment. Residency, the state where an insurance plan was issued, and a mailing address alone do not establish clinical eligibility. Suitability also depends on your clinical needs and the clinician's assessment.
Patients needing emergency intervention, intensive psychiatric services, or a level of care that cannot be safely provided remotely should seek appropriate in-person care. For more on eligibility, visit New York telehealth psychiatry.
Frequently asked questions
Is my copay always the same as the follow-up self-pay price?
No. Insurance cost-sharing is determined by your plan and processed benefits; published self-pay fees are separate from insurance billing.
Can I use a New Jersey or another out-of-state insurance plan?
Potential coverage depends on your particular benefits and network. Regardless of the insurer, the current service requires that you be physically located in New York during the clinical appointment.
Can I use Medicare or Medicaid?
These programs are not currently accepted by the practice.
How do I ask about a sliding-scale fee?
Contact the practice to request a discussion before booking a paid appointment. Reduced pricing is subject to agreement and availability.
